With the progression of golf technology, tour players have been able to hit the ball further than ever before – which is arguably not a positive development for the game at the highest level – but it has certainly been breathtaking to watch at times, with prodigious distances now being achieved by the likes of Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, and Rory McIlroy.
